Delhi Jesuits
Navjivan Renewal Centre is a new initiative of the Delhi Jesuits. The name “Jesuit” refers to the members of the Society of Jesus, which is a men’s Religious Order within the Catholic Church.
Established in 1540 by St Ignatius of Loyola, the Jesuits have a long history of serving the Catholic Church and humanity. Central to the Jesuit philosophy of life are the spiritual exercises written by St. Ignatius, which enable the individual to learn more about oneself and God through prayer and guidance from a Jesuit spiritual director. Men who are called to the Society of Jesus desire to be prophetic “contemplatives in action”. The contemporary Jesuits’ mission is focused on “the service of faith and the promotion of justice”.
